Overview

A feasibility study exists to make a go/no-go decision defensible. Ours covers the site conditions and physical constraints, the equipment options and their material selection, constructability and the shutdown window available, permitting and regulatory constraints, and CAPEX/OPEX modelling with the assumptions stated openly. The output is a recommendation backed by field data and supplier quotations — the document that secures internal approval, or that stops a project before it becomes expensive.

What estimate class do you deliver?

Typically an AACE Class 4 to Class 3 estimate, depending on how much engineering definition exists and how firm the supplier quotations are. The class and its expected accuracy range are stated on the cover of the estimate rather than left implicit.

Can a feasibility study conclude that we should not proceed?

Yes, and that is often its most valuable outcome. A study that can only conclude in favour of the project is not a study. Where the numbers do not support the investment, the report says so and explains what would have to change for the answer to be different.
